Seven hardcore criminals have escaped from Makongeni police station in Thika.
They include five facing robbery with violence charges and two charged with trafficking narcotics.
“It was reported today by one No 66076 Tom Odhiambo and 101049 Nelson Mandela report office and cells sentry personnel that while they were in the report office at 0420 hours they heard a faint knock on the wall and saw someone running away from the motorcycles parking yard. They raised alarm,” the police signal said.
The signal is titled “escape from lawful custody”.
The robbery with violence suspects are Paul Kitundu Ngui, John Muriithi Wambui, David Karanja Njeri, Benson Kimani Jecinta, and Kelvin Gaitho Wambui.
The other suspects charged with trafficking drugs are Harun Kibe Njoroge and Josphat Muturi Karanja.
The officers said the suspects cut ventilation grills and jumped out.
