Five students of Chulaimbo Boys secondary school in Kisumu were on Monday charged with arson after a fire razed down two dormitories at the school on Saturday night.
Appearing before Maseno Senior Principal Magistrate Reuben Kipng’eno, the five were jointly charged with burning two dormitories at the school.
The court heard that the accused willfully and unlawfully set on fire the two dormitories named Omino and Owira, valued at Ksh.5 million ablaze on Saturday night at 9.30pm.
They were released on a cash bail of Ksh.30,000 or an alternative bond of Ksh.100,000 each.
The case will be mentioned on July, 23 and hearing slated for August 28, 2018.
