A 28-year-old man died yesterday morning after he was stabbed during a squabble at pub in Kisumu.
The scuffle ensued when a brother to Billy Onyanjgo the (deseased) was attacked by some people at the cub Signature before Onyango rushed into the car and removed a sword.
An Angry Onyango came back charged and stabbed one of his brother’s attackers who in turn acted swiftly by grabbing the sword with the help of his colleagues and stabbed Onyango severally on the stomach.
According to Kisumu County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim, Onyango succumbed to the injuries at Aga Khan Hospital upon admission.
“The victim passed on while undergoing treatment at the hospital,” Maalim said adding that the club is one of the most frequented entertainment spots in the lakeside town.
The suspected attacker was also taken to the same hospital after he was beaten up by an angry mob.
“We expect the management to tell us what measures they are putting in place to ensure no more lives are lost,” Maalim stated.
The commissioner added that they (the club’s management) were scheduled to appear before the county security and intelligence committee in their next meeting.
