Traffic police take over operations on all Kenyan roads after Uhuru order

It is now official; Traffic police department has taken charge of all road safety regulation duties, safe for policy formulation which remains the core mandate of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

This comes a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered NTSA to keep off the roads.

Police spokesman Charles Owino confirmed yesterday that officers from the traffic department have already began executing the mandate.
