Three German nationals were carjacked and robbed at gunpoint on
Mombasa Road minutes after landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International
Airport (JKIA) for vacation in the country.
According to preliminary police investigations, the three who had hired a taxi
from airport to city centre were attacked by armed gangsters at the Nyayo Stadium roundabout.
“On reaching Nyayo Stadium Roundaabout, they were accosted by three
men one armed with a pistol,” an investigation report shows.
On board were Stefan Thieman, Dianne Buzzer and Meykuria Begane.
During the confrontation, Begane was injured on the face and rushed to
Coptic Hospital fro treatment.
The three lost their passports and 105 USD.
The taxi driver has been identified as John Kariuki.
