Man who chopped off wife’s hands, leg gets life imprisonment

A man who chopped off his wife’s two hands and leg two years ago will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Reuben Kivuva was charged with attempted murder after he was arrested for cutting off Judith Muendi’s limbs.

Kivuva was found guilty of the offence committed at Emali town in Makueni county.

Makindu senior resident magistrate Gerald Mutiso said his crime was unbelievable and rendered the once hard working woman dependent.

Muendi and her mother Reginah Wayua said the ruling was a relief despite the challenges she continues to face.

The green grocer at Emali town said she has been living with her mother since the incident occurred.
