Sh50M Chickengate case against former IEBC CEO to be mentioned in January

A Nairobi court has ordered the  Sh50 million Chickengate case against former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chief executive office, James Oswago and  former commission official  Hamida Ali Kibwana to be mentioned on January 11.

Also charged alongside Oswago (pictured) is an  agent for a UK ballot printing firm, Trevy Oyombra. Milimani Anti- Corruption Senior Principal Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi fixed the mention date to enable all the parties to agree on the suitable hearing dates.

The three accused persons are facing charges for over Sh 50 million that was allegedly paid as bribe by a UK firm, Smith & Ouzman, to former members of the defunct Interim Independent Electoral Commission.
